Shiloh
Shiloh arrived at Horse Feathers on Jan. 25, 2009, the unfortunate victim of extreme neglect. She was evaluated by our veterinarian, had her hooves trimmed and lived comfortably for nine months with us.
During that time, she touched everyone involved with Horse Feathers with her sweet, patient and forgiving soul. After being treated so badly, she still loved attention from anyone who was around.
Sadly, we lost Shiloh on Oct. 9, 2009. She is greatly missed by her human friends and especially by her special friend, Dale.

Since Shiloh first arrived, Dale was taken with her and from then on, he was always by her side.
On days when she didn't feel like coming outside, he would spend the day standing at the barn door so he could see her. This photo is from June 2009.
August 2009

This is the hoof on Shiloh's bad leg after a trim in August 2009.

June 2009

On arrival - Her feet badly overgrown, making it extremely difficult for her to walk, due to her bad leg

Farrier Day - the vet assisted, and her feet were trimmed. Photos show how overgrown they had become.

What a difference a good trimming makes! (cracks are from abscessing, and will heal with time and treatment)

February 28, 2009 - Shiloh had her second trim. With time and patience, John was able to trim her standing up,
Before her trim was started, and in progress

Thank You, John!
